This system performs a simultaneous gravity separation and desliming of the feed material, utilising the inclined channels in order to retain the relatively fine dense particles. These particles promote the formation of an autogenous dense medium within the fluidized bed. Relatively large, low density particles are displaced from the fluidized bed and conveyed upwards through the inclined channels reporting to the overflow with other finer particles. Given the hydrodynamic role of both the particle size and density in determining the particle transport through a water based suspension, all gravity separators operate over a limited size range. In the case of the REFLUXTM Classifier, efficient separations can be produced across a very broad size range, from nearly 10 mm down to 10 m, however, for a given application the size range is much more limited. This study was concerned with the processing of dense minerals over a broad size range, and the need for multistage processing. Here the overflow from the first stage cascades to the second stage, incorporating coarse gangue rejection. This approach is shown to deliver remarkably high grades and recovery.]]> Wed 23 Nov 2022 16:37:20 AEDT ]]> Separation of coal with a top size of up to 6 mm in a full-scale REFLUX™ Classifier https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:43609 Wed 19 Jul 2023 12:19:09 AEST ]]> Influence of slimes on gravity separation of iron ore fines in a REFLUXTM classifier https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:45829 Wed 16 Nov 2022 09:10:41 AEDT ]]> Gravity separation of ultra-fine iron ore in the reflux classifier https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:20309 Wed 11 Apr 2018 14:55:07 AEST ]]> Gravity separation and flotation of fine particles using the Reflux Classifier platform https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:19235 Wed 11 Apr 2018 14:36:19 AEST ]]> Particle transport and separation in inclined channels subject to centrifugal forces https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:14592 Wed 11 Apr 2018 13:09:05 AEST ]]> Characterisation, beneficiation, and modelling of gold ore for gravity pre-concentration in a REFLUX™ Classifier https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:44577 Wed 06 Mar 2024 15:30:58 AEDT ]]> Ultrafine desliming using a REFLUX™ classifier subjected to centrifugal G forces https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:37376 Wed 05 Jul 2023 11:30:32 AEST ]]> Novel jamming mechanism for dry separation of particles by density https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:37284 Tue 27 Feb 2024 13:52:48 AEDT ]]> A novel approach to evaluating gravity pre-concentration amenability utilising the hydrodynamics of dense liquids in inclined channels https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:50403 Tue 25 Jul 2023 14:28:17 AEST ]]> Gravity separation and desliming using inclined channels subject to different G-forces https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:37691 Tue 16 Mar 2021 11:28:09 AEDT ]]> Gravity separation in the REFLUX™ Classifier in the presence of slimes https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:36240 Tue 16 Jan 2024 11:21:40 AEDT ]]> Desliming ultra-fine iron ore in the REFLUX™ graviton https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:37539 Thu 25 Feb 2021 21:18:51 AEDT ]]> Gravity separation and classification of fine coal using the hydrodynamics of inclined channels https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:11964 Sat 24 Mar 2018 10:32:25 AEDT ]]> Application of closely spaced inclined channels in gravity separation https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:8903 Sat 24 Mar 2018 08:36:45 AEDT ]]> How to elutriate particles according to their density https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:8077 Sat 24 Mar 2018 08:34:27 AEDT ]]> Water based fractionation of particles https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:8080 Sat 24 Mar 2018 08:34:26 AEDT ]]> Role of inertial lift in elutriating particles according to their density https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:12519 Sat 24 Mar 2018 08:16:02 AEDT ]]> Fine gravity separation in the reflux classifier, exploiting a high shear rate, laminar flow mechanism https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:11971 Sat 24 Mar 2018 08:09:36 AEDT ]]> Gravity separation of coal in the reflux classifier -
